Montauk Lighthouse and Long Exposure

Over the last few weeks I have been in reading up on how to take long exposure photographs during the day. Here are a few things I have learned:

1. Do not stack the ND filters.

2. Make sure you take the strap off. I really didn’t think it would make a difference but I guess the wind must have moved the strap because some of the shots came out blurry.

3. Use a heavy duty tripod.

4. Go outside and shoot a ton of photos.

So, I decided to put these tips to good use. I took advantage of the beautiful, chilly day and drove out to Montauk to play around with my techniques.
